Inspirational quote A poet is someone Stuff I'm Reading Now:
Sherean's Favorite Charities This organization started in Louisville (my hometown) and now has chapters all over the country. It provides safe harbor and transportation to shelters for teenage runaways. Most shelters do not have names that are easy to look up (you can't just look up "teenage shelter" in the phone book, although these days you could Google it) so teens end up on the street with no idea where to go. This organization taps businesses and puts big "safe place" signs in their windows. The employees are trained to call the shelter; the shelter dispatches trained volunteers (like me) to pick up the runaway and either take them back home, if they like, or to the local shelter. And the shelters work with the entire family to fix the dysfunction, if possible. Way back in the late 80's, I worked on their logo, initial branding, and marketing materials. I've watched them grow from a local idea to an important, national charity. ![]() Kiva is a micro-financing organization. For $25 dollars you can help a small business owner in a developing country, search through their profiles, read their business plans, and see their payment history. |
Testimonial "Sherean helped us understand our market, our differentiation, and our unique selling proposition. She also helped us prioritize our marketing and selling efforts to maximize budgets. Much of our recent success is a direct result of our work with Sherean and her extended team of marketing professionals." R.W. Nicholson, President, Pravasa, Inc. |
